  1. I think this counts as a bit of a win and a bit of a loss: Win: no points Loss: smoothie got warm Lol
  2. It would be the only swingers party where everyone went home in a celica though lol
  3. We love ya Ryan, your unique brand of comedy reminds me a bit of al murrays pub landlord, straight to the point and lots of laughs. In real life I like to think your 6"2, speak loudly and always have a pint in your hand ;-)
  4. Recently sold my 140 for £850 but it did need a bit of work Think that people are a) no buying sports coupes right now and worried abou 140s burning oil Bad if your selling but a great time to buy
  5. Had them on the front of mine and isn't rate them, lots of wheel spin in the wet Toyo proxes were cheaper and better (bargain price on mytyres.co.uk) Uniroyal rain sport 2 are apparently better as well and similar price Mytyres.com were cheaper than camskill though the website was pants the delivery takes a few days
  6. I've been in an "old shape" cupra 225 which was chipped to 240 and I've also been in Ants celica Gotta say the celica felt faster, I'm into bikes too and the "dyno god gave me" says it will be close
  7. Live my gen 7 and having decided to keep it I thought it was time for some mods: Ordered everything I need to lower the car Then notice that the rust on the rear arch is getting worse, the boot seal has failed and its leaking in and the tax is due Its probably only worth 900 and having done some maths it's 120 to tax for 6 months, 250 for the arch sorting and 80 for he lowering plus 75 for the alignment Maths sucks..... Now im thinking I should sell it and get a newer one taxed and get that lowered What do you guys reckon ? I've got a grand in savings so if I sold this (I would make the seller aware of the faults by the way) I could spend 1800 on a newer one Or is a grand on a gen 6 gt better spent ? Anything I get would need to be S reg or newer though so I could use my private plate
  8. I had my disks and pads all round done for £120 so that sounds okay I'm just about to book my car in for the lowering springs and drop links fitting and have been offered to get it done for £80 someone else quotes £100 so your overpaying on that - not sure where your based but drop martinking6 or ams a line 4 wheel alignment I've been quoted £75 from demon tweeks
  9. I've got a 140 and I will admit I considered selling it, but for the money there isn't anything available that's half as cool If my 140 engine goes bang, I'll whack a new engine in I wouldn't worry one bit bud Have have a awesome looking car that's great fun to drive Enjoy
  10. Sounds like a rough day Sai... Dude from work lives in Bethesda and spent 4 hours on the 55 too, his shitty 2003 focus handled it but stank so your awesome celica will be fine Next time your on the 55 you'll be heading towards Chester to get your ass whooped by me at go karting LOL
  11. This happened to my wife in her works car park last month (I put up a thread about it) police now in involved (we have CCTV) apparently the damage is a civil matter but leaving the scene of an accident is criminal matter, police went round to the woman's house yesterday and sorted it Give em a ring, I was surprised by how keen the police were to investigate
  12. Thanks for all the input guys Was hoping it was a cheap, easy job I could pay for with a few beers Sounds like I need an expert. Rsvr, Martin & Rory thanks all for offering. Nice to have options, I plan to stop messing about and buy the springs so you may be hearing from me soon
  13. .... very very close to buying some spring for my Gen7 Been quoted £75 - £100 quid for the fitting which I can't afford right now. Wondering if there is anyone near Chester who wants to save me a bit of cash by helping (read doing all the work) for me ? Worth an ask Thanks all - Scott P.S: wouldn't be for a few weeks
  14. I've seen people lending each other wheels and stereos but there must be some weird favours out there, a mole check might take some beating though :-)
  15. There I was just sat at my desk working away when I hear this awesome noise. One of the lads in the office says.... god that car sounds good. A quick look out of the window and who is it..... Supersai in his white Gen7 (used to belong to seven) Man that thing sounds (and looks) awesome Sai posted in off topic a while back looking for an entrepreneur to interview so I hooked him up with my boss. 3 reasons for this post: 1, Awesome to see (and hear) a Celica outside the office 2, Awesome to finally meet another celica club member 3, Good to see that the forum works, not just for car related stuff but other things too BIG celica club group hug !
  16. Ghoul: the title was "bonnet went" I looked at the thread expecting to see pics of a bonnet flying off !!
  17. Couldn't have said it any better... Spot on
  18. The white big bumper 3dr gti with Bbs rims was the car I always wanted too :-) I've always liked coupes and after a number of little hatches including a corsa Sri, a Clio 16v and polo I got a rover coupe turbo... Then a Megane coupe which I sold I my mate wen i got a company car, after 4 years in a company car I moved jobs and needed a car, having just moved house my budget was 2k and I needed a reliable coupe, it was a toss up between a gen6, a gen 7 and a BMW coupe All the bmws seemed to have rusty wheel arches and the 7s seemed to be in nicer condition than the 6's (probably just cos they were newer) so that's how I got mine Ah, and I had an Astra gte for 3 weeks at one point, piece of shiz that was
  19. its basically an override switch, my Clifford g5 has one, you can type in codes like up,up,down,up,down to turn the alarm on and off if you lose the remote, think you can also hit valet mode and change settings Need the booklet to tell you codes, of course the one to switch the alarm off is unique to your unit
  20. Yes, the size and how common it is does affect the price, suppliers buy common sizes in bulk and get a discount which they can pass on
  21. That is nice to know I was debating between getting a 6 or 7, but went for the 7 in the end one factor being that parts would be easier to get hold of
  22. Thanks guys I might try a d bargain with them a bit because they are local and I'd loose £30 quid in fuel driving to Manchester or somewhere I'd love to have the skills to try it myself but honestly I am useles with my hands, I'd end up making a huge mess and wasting a million pounds in wrap Cheers for the info all
  23. Thanks Harv My DIY stills are awful so best not to try it my self For a quote from a local ish firm for £133 plus vat they would be using 3m branded wrap Anyone happen to know if this is a good price or good product ? Thanks Scott
  24. Hi all My bonnet is stone chipped so needs either respraying or wrapping and I'm assuming wrapping will be cheaper. The Gen7 in this advert is the same colour as mine and I think the effect looks awesome. 2 questions: 1, The wrap is cheap enough but how much is fitting likely to cost ? 2, Does anyone know of a fitter in the northwest ? Thanks guys - Scott http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CARBON-FIBRE-VINYL-WRAP-BLACK-2-X-1-5-METRES-3D-ROOF-BONNET-TOYOTA-CELICA-MR2-/230854142215?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35bffaa907
  25. I'd say wrap it... However that's because I'm thinking of getting mine wrapped for the same reason so you'd be blazing a trail for me to follow :-)
