  1. My guess would be a failing voltage regulator, they're part of the alternator and not a big job http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALTERNATOR-Regulator-Toyota-Corolla-Celica-Starlet-1-3-1-5-1-6-2-0-GT-GTi-/161837098232?hash=item25ae3e24f8:g:q3EAAOxyVLNS6WkR
  2. Should be a rubber o ring from memory mate
  3. Happy 1 Anniversary bakcsa1!

  6. They are, and yes in an ideal world all bolts would be tightened to specified torque and remain in place till removed. The magnetic plugs even when fully unwound need a pull to come away from the sump hole, (at least mine does), saves buying a new sump plug and spewing all the engine oil over the road in one drop aside from the fact they're a damn good idea to collect the small metal particles floating round your engine.
  7. As at least a bit of a preventative for the future it would be a good idea to fit a magnetic sump plug, at least if it did come loose it'd still hold itself in.
  8. 9 years for me with the 182 this year I think it's 3 with the 185
  9. I'm in the other camp, I always put a thin smear of Loctite 5980 around all the mating faces of the gaskets and I've never had one leak. The fact that pretty much every 3sge/gte on the face of the planet has developed leaks at some point in their life, some a relatively short time after a fresh OE gasket replacement tells me there's improvements that can be made to get it right. There's nothing to say either way is wrong.
  10. As above, sensible money is on rocker cover gasket or maybe dizzy oil seal
  11. Have you got any plus gas?, that stuff works wonders.
