  5. it doesnt feel lumpy or anything, i think its back to normal and im just thinking it feels looser as im paying more attention. it never felt lumpy at all actualy, it was weird how it was driving normal then it just suddenly went really loose, if it was running low id imagine it to be gradual. i filled it to the max line and its still on the line now so the leak (not leek) cant be that bad. the steering wheel does now turn itself back after a corner which it didnt do at all before i filled it up. i dont suppose you would know what causes the bite to be so high apart from a fucked clutch? its a year old, i refuse to believe ive already killed it. im not replacing it again so if it does need doing i'll drive until its undrivable then SORN it, which Im quite likely to have to do anyway
  6. been out for a drive and the steering feels slightly looser than it did after i put PAS fluid in yesterday. I might just be imagining this though as subconsciously Im paying more attention to the steering now. Its definately not as loose as it was and I dont seem to have lost any PAS fluid. Does it just take a bit of a drive to get it running through the system properly again?? The whining has stopped anyway. I have been suggested a theory by 2 people, that maybe when the PAS tank is empty its replaced by air which means there is no pressure hence the loose steering when its empty. To me that makes sense. But so does the theory of steering getting heavier when power steering isnt working. Either way, a £7.49 fix seems to have sorted it..... for now...
  7. yes it was the damn PAS fluid - I hope. it was fine on the 5 min drive home but I'll take her out again tomorrow for a proper run to make sure
  8. shhhhhh.... ....maybe.... but in my defence Bek told me the steering gets harder when its out of PAS fluid, not looser. at least I dont have to turn it 2 and a half times round just to go round a wide corner now
  9. right but the oil and filter change was for mot and tyres are for jae right? my mot was a month ago and im not going jae
  10. aw i wish i was going to jae. best weekend ever last year. im thinking of wrapping my car, im pretty sure ive picked out the wrap i want and il do it myself when i know my car is mechanically perfect and i have the money
  11. thanks, thats brilliant. Im off to Torquay halfords in a bit to get some PAS fluid and see what that sorts out. I think it just needs a bit of normal maintenance, i never check any oil levels or tyre pressures or anything like that I shall definately pop in and see him at some point
  12. so whining is no PAS fluid pulling to left is tyre pressures everything else is probably my car's way of telling me to stop driving at 110mph everywhere
  13. yeah i moved about 2 months ago down here. yes you should have done!! lol i live practically next door to the best pub in paignton
