  7. Cheers for the kind words guys, what i brill bunch of people you all are
  8. See i disagree, the interior is far far nicer than the celica, it handles well and after coming from the celica which has coilovers thats saying something! It's not as revvy as the celica, or as manic, much smoother and refined. But so much quicker! Yeah to 60 it would be relatively close, but mid range grunt is bonkers! I will always love the celica, but this car is something else! I have heard nout but good things about the 1.8T engines, they are capable of some mage miles too
  9. It saddens me to say this but i have decided to part ways with my celica, mainly because i wanted something newer and to be honest, i need boost in my life! Running costs and insurance at my age meant i couldn't afford anything japanese, and to be fair most of the turbo jap stuff is quite dated.. I've enjoyed my time with the celica, and with the celica club! The few of you i have met in person, it has been a pleasure! The celica is still for sale, but i've had someone make me a reasonable offer so hopefully it will be gone by the weekend! I have a new car, it's quite different to what i'm used to but i love it! It's an 03 plate Seat Leon cupra, which has the widely used 1.8T engine, which is currently making a tadge over 200bhp (180bhp standard) It's got lots of electrical items and buttons for me to break, and it's actually a fair bit cheaper to insure than the celica, it is also an aweful lot quicker than the celica
  10. Wow, thought i'd get a ribbing for not liking the gt4 face! They do look like they've been crashed into a lamp post, the bonnet looks like it's bent!
  11. Don't like the bumper or the bonnet on the 205's, like the plain look of the 202's! Spose i could still get a gt4 or v6 lump and retain the standard look? Engine conversion sounds like a plan!
  12. V6 is a pretty good answer to be fair, never thought of that! Don't want a GT4 really..
  13. Got to the point where i'm now able to run and insure something a bit mental car wise, but i absolutely love my gen 6, it's not the quickest thing on the road, and i do fancy a turbo to be honest! But i don't think i could be without the 6, i've got to the point where i'm very happy with it, spent a fair amount of money on a car that's probably worth about £500 now. I've got loads of bits still to fit, i've got plans for the car in the future, like get the bodywork 100% and i've still got my heart set on a hks exhaust, after seeing and hearing a mates on a trackday i have to have one on my car! It's been absolutely bomb proof and apart from being maybe a bit too low (my fault) it still has me wanting to drive it daily! She's on 136,000 miles now! So, do i chuck another couple of grand at her and get her to where i want, and potentially loose and awefull lot of money, or sell up now and get something a bit quicker? oppinions?
  14. Mines on 135k, 13 years old. Full main dealer history, been serviced on the dot every time, i'm the second owner and it's got some basic mods (for now) Exhaust, decat, air filter, decent plugs, and heat wrapped manifold and it made 156whp on the dyno. Getting the inlet manifold and throttle body ported, and got a power deck spacer going on, so hopefully should see a couple more ponies So as stated above i believe if it's been well looked after no reason why it should loose too much.
