  1. its not loud until you need earplugs and you turn a multistory carpark into a car alarm disco security once refused me entry into a carpark in glasgow because they remembered my car from the week before
  2. I read somewhere that the 2500 WRC cars where made in the first 5000 chassis numbers. my 1994 is chassis 5017 and tbh i was most excited about the lack of ABS than anything else if i was buying a GT4 as an investment to keep original it would be a WRC all day
  3. throw it in the bin, It will never improve and buy some non toyota brakes my caldina is on axle stands right now for the very same reason - I have about 10 callipers but none that i want to waste any time and money on.........to just need another rebuild in about 18 months
  4. I think thats why the guys at toyota mentioned to me about a turbo version coming soon. if they are talking about it then is has to have a bit more substance than just rumour people can have their all out power if they want. I think you are spot on thought that toyota are missing out on a big chunk of the market, a turbo 86 is going to make the non turbo more popular too
  5. if people are all about the BHP then why are they driving a 190 lots of other cars for the similar price when that came out with more power yet they sold plenty of them anyone who thinks power is everything I invite them to drive my levin its only got 165bhp
  6. Was talking to the head of the part department at my local toyota today who mentioned that toyota are considering a turbo 86 due to the fact it's not taken off yet
  7. Drill a hole in the outers and bung the full beams into them with some tiger seal
  8. I would say yes, but then again you could wire it into the headlight instead I know someone fairly local who done that.........or fitted side lights to his full beams or something and had no MOT problems
  9. personally i like the JDM gt86 that comes with black bumpers and steel wheels
  10. a lot of talk on here about use of the rear seats. personally i don't care how cramped my passengers are, i don't ever buy a car on the consideration of those i and driving around gen6 isn't practical in the rear for adults, neither is the gen 7. and if i have my seat in a driving position in a gen5 only a legless person can get in behind. as for the GT86 to dismiss buying one on the grounds of rear passenger space is a bit weak
  11. Punt on the Halford version of the Gen7 and get a Gt86 A modded gen7 is worthless and only going down in value
  12. sad fact is the gen7 was made during toyotas cheapskate generation. all you need to do is take in the interior plastic quality. less fasteners on things. window switches in center console.+ a lot less sound deadening. the gen5 was built in a time when toyota were the kings and cost was no problem because people bought the cars. I think i read somewhere a few years ago that the gen7 was the poorest selling celica of all generations the gen6 had lots of extras but not nearly as many or as cool as the gen 5
  13. I still believe there are more of each
  14. I have never known a gen 7 5 spoke to bend (unlike the 17inch rims) and they are an average weight wheel and as above the look good on anything but a gen 7
  15. I have fitted the 3 spokes to pretty much every car I own, they are light strong and easy to get a hold off. They look better without he center caps though
  16. the only time a celica GT4 is better than a caldina is in a corner and even then its marginal
  17. always wanted this car was raffled recently by toyota for charity
  18. Very wise words, I hate seeing a celica die. but knowing when enough is enough is vital. even though a car is over 20 years old if they have been looked after properly through their life then you should have no trouble
