I think £4k is realistic.
My 2004 140 had covered 30k when up for sale in the Spring. £6295 on eBay, and I had five people who wanted it. First one to ring paid £1k deposit by bank transfer based on my description over the phone. Four more genuine calls while the ad' was still live on eBay, waiting for the car to be collected. The price did include two sets of 17" wheels, one Summer, one Winter, and if I say so myself, the pics on the ad' made the car look brand new.
Confess to having mixed feelings on collection day..after 17 years, you can get attached to cars, and this one had been faultless.

No worries about fitting. With the Gen 7 being an old car, they pre-date on-board computer systems. All you need is a 10mm spanner.
Just be careful to get the right size, the last time I looked, Halfords were giving incorrect info on the battery type.
You need a 005 if your TS is pre face lift, 053 if it's face lift (2002 was the "crossover" year).

Difficult to see why Toyota would spend a small fortune developing a Celica when they have the GR86 in the wings, and all this at a time when coupes are a dying breed

Mr T has always been reasonable re batteries.
£50.50 on eBay for a Yuasa 053 400CCA with a four year guarantee (assuming your TS is a face lift).

Carnoisseur, rtechshop, and tarmacsportz have the front pair available to order on-line..but they may not carry stock for such a niche market, and simply place any orders they take from Zunsport.
Worth calling them?.

Diggin' that air intake mesh, i'm guessing it's not OEM?, but looks far better than the black plastic
Zunsport, Debs. AFAIK, they are still available for the Gen 7.
I have them on my Cayman..they're very popular with Porsche owners..

If the words, "part worn tyres" were to be found in a dictionary, the definition would be.."minefield".
As is mentioned in the link below, any potential buyer should be asking.."Why were they removed from the vehicle in the first place?". The reason may well be that they have suffered structural damage in an accident.
I nearly had my fingers burnt a few years when what appeared to be a bargain from a used tyre warehouse in Sheffield advertising on eBay delivered a pair of Contis that were both damaged. I was fortunate to get a full refund, and unsurprisingly, have only bought new since.
Also, the old maxim of, "If it's too good to be true..", comes to mind. As well as, "Buyer beware". You may be lucky, but it depends on how much of a gambler you are.

No, Kev has worked for himself for almost as long as I can remember.
He is a fan of Jap cars, and has owned a Civic Type R, and Impreza Wagon recently, and is running a Suzuki Swift Sport which I saw for the first time yesterday.

I know this is an older feed but I'm looking for a mechanic to work on my mk7 with engine noise.
My mechanic is not a Gen 7 engine specialist. However, he is an excellent mechanic (as opposed to what I would call a "fitter", who works at a main dealer). I've known Kev since the early 60's, he has approaching 50 years experience working on all marques, and can be trusted to do a good job at a very fair price. I should mention he is not VAT registered, so that's 20% off the bill for starters. He's worked on quite a few club members cars over the years, so is familiar with the Gen 7. How much engine work..I don't honestly know.
One current member who will only use Kev for repairs is SlickCelica.
I called in to see him yesterday morning, to book one of my cars in, so I know he is fully booked for this month.
If you want to give him a call, it's K. H. Motors on 01773 714450 8.30 to 5 Monday to Friday. Location is five minutes from M1 J26, or 15 minutes from A38/M1 J28.

54.1 is the width of the centre bore.
-
Quite a few cars from the VAG group have a 5x100 PCD. There's one or two others such as Rover 75, and Chrysler Crossfire, but mainly VAG.
All have a larger centre bore than the Celica, so a set of spigot rings and tapered nuts, and you're good to go.

How does everyone else go about getting theirs, any good tips?
Forgot to mention that I usually use Camskill. It's rare their prices are beaten, and they have a massive selection.
The HUKD link you posted re 225/40/18, the rolling radius is a bit too big for the Gen 7. Although more expensive, 225/35/18 is a much closer match to the OE 205/45/17.
I tried 225/40/18 all the way back in 2006, and performance was badly affected, so they were only on my 140 for two weeks, before being replaced with 225/35.
I haven't run 18's for over 10 years now, and try to dissuade owners from going any larger than 17".

I could be wrong and I’m sure @Kev 16v will correct me here but I think the OEM 16’s came with Yokohama’s and the 17’s Pirelli.
Can't fault you there
Pirelli P Zero Assimetrico 88W.

So does having decent matching rubber on all 4 corners really make a large difference?
Apologies if I'm stating the obvious, but the important thing is not to mix different tyres on the same axle.
A set of two matching pairs is fine, although if one pair has more tread than the other, I prefer the newer pair on the rear, even on a FWD car.
I'm not going to make any recommendations as regards tyre brands, as said many times, buy the best you can afford, and check pressures regularly, especially as the outside temperature will be dropping noticeably in the next few weeks.
I fitted my winter wheels just two days ago, using one of these to set pressure to 32psi..

Red was used in the factory until 2004. TBH, I always thought Red was a five year coolant, with it being OAT, two years just seems wrong to me. I've had two coolant changes (both Red) in the last 16 years.
I think my 2004 car would have been one of the last before Pink was introduced.
On a side note..my mechanic rates Toyota's Pink so highly, he uses it for all the "modern" vehicles that require a change.

Also, note the advice NOT to use OAT coolant on older models with brass/copper radiators (as was discussed on here recently).

Crazy to think it's 20 years ago now
Almost all 52 plate cars are face-lift. AFAIK, all 02 plate are pre face-lift.
Face lift TS was down speced from the car that was introduced in 2001, losing the dynamic front lip and skirts. Toyota branded CD/Tuner replaced the Sony CD/Cassette/Tuner. All models were given darker (and nicer) interior plastics, and the design of the front bumper changed. A sunroof remained an extra cost option on the TS. The 190 was deleted from the range at that time.
