  3. 3sge oil + filters

blue print and 10/40 semi synth does my 3sges and 3sgtes fine. Halfords oil with that. Personally believe change more often than buy expensive but change infrequently.

  5. 3sge oil + filters

forgot about blueprint jap-copy stuff. mahle filters are supposed to be pretty decent too
  6. 3sge oil + filters

I've always used 5w40 FS, last time was Shell helix from ECP. Nothing wrong with using 10w40 though. Mann filters are fine as well. I tend to used either genuine toyota or blueprint (just because I'm fussy), but I've been using mann filters from ECP on my wifes corolla for about 5 years and it's the same filter as the 3sge.

  8. 3sge oil + filters

this one appears to meet autodata's book requirements of api-SJ and acea-A3, although says its for diesel engines ? https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-accessories/engine-oils-and-car-fluids/engineoils/10w40-engine-oil/?521776151&0&cc5_245 the mobil 1 semi-synth meets A3 + SJ requirements too. https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-accessories/engine-oils-and-car-fluids/engineoils/10w40-engine-oil/?521771871&0&cc5_245 that shell hx7 stuff is SN-api, slightly different. probably doesnt make much difference tho ? the rest of there semi oils are the same SN or SL, only a couple are SJ tho, hmm. i think im over complicating this, haha. just throw in any old stuff, and itll be fine most likely. yeah, code ' mid50 ' for the next 27 hours. ive found a good combo, im set on mann oil filter, and mobil super 2000 x1 probably a fiver more than the other oil, ill treat the old girl, to some posh stuff

  10. 3sge oil + filters

Actually, just checked the front page of the website and there is a discount code on oil now for 35% off stated prices.
  11. 3sge oil + filters

I used 10 40. I suspect different models may share the same filter. I buy my genuine parts direct from a Toyota dealer so I wouldnt know about ebay. I think this is the oil I used last. I bought it when there was a good discount code on though https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-accessories/engine-oils-and-car-fluids/engineoils/10w40-engine-oil/?521772251&0&cc5_245&type=shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI7qGpi9WG3gIV4r3tCh13GgpGEAQYBSABEgIeF_D_BwE
  12. Back with my second Gen 7 VVTI after 5 years!

  13. 3sge oil + filters

Euro car parts only seem to have 2 choices, of 5-30 full synth dribbly water, or thick gloopy 20-50 mineral. Bit of a contrast. However I've checked auto data, and the 3sge seems to be ok with anything between 5 and 50. Both semi and full, so doesn't appear to be a fussy engine. It'll eat anything, like a pisshead after 10 pints. Personally my favorite stuff, that I've used for years without trouble, in all my cars, is 10-40 semi. Is that Celica filter still being made new, for a range of multiple cars, or will it be a gamble on the age of it, when buying on eBay ?
  14. 3sge oil + filters

I went with genuine Toyota oil filter and whatever decent oil was on offer. Shell Helix I think it was at the time. Toyota filter will be fine. They know what they're doing. Plus you replace them often anyway
  15. hi quality modern mann filter, with silicone seals inside, or 25+ year old design toyota filter ? .... and .... 10/40 semi synth toyota genuine or something else ? - what say you.

  22. what have you done to your celica today...

They do look good, they won the Auto Express wiper blade 2018 group test https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/36172/best-wiper-blades-2018-group-test Has anyone tried the Michelin Stealth wiper blades? A few years ago i bought a boxful of Stadium wiper rubber replacements, and have replaced the rubbers a couple of times, but have found they don't last well, seem to split at the ends, probably heat/sun damage, also very noisy wipe and streaky. Scotty Kilmer recommends silicone wiper blades - and he has a lot to say about them

  24. what have you done to your celica today...

Over the past couple of years i've noticed one of my front screen washer jets squirting off aim, projecting most of it's squirt too high up the screen so most would go on the roof The thing is with these trivial problems, it's very easy to forget about them - until the next time you're out driving along the road again, and when washing the screen, say to one self, "i need to fix that when i get home", like you've said a hundred times before. And then when you get home, it's one of those jobs of not much importance in the big scheme of things so very easy to forget all about... until the next drive out onto the open road and one is reminded yet again about the naughty jet washer when pulling the screen wash lever and ...well you can see where this is going [ two years later ] Today between the showers and feeling bored indoors and wanting to get out for some fresh air, i found a pin, went out to the Celica and corrected the aim of that there washer jet. Jone done Next job is replacing all the wiper blades, anyone got good recommendations?, and any makes to avoid? Debs

  28. Pre Winter Checks

Just thinking of those days where frost/ice welds the window to it's surround. I suppose with the Celica, being a frameless window, once you rip the door open, it'll break all the ice at the top side of it away, Hopefully no one smashes a window
