    Still a bit on the boring side for all the "Faffers" but my pair of original front indicators arrived today. £32 off EBay.
  8. decided that it was time to refurb my trd adjustable shocks, the original green was looking worse for wear and as they are going on my black gt4 with red accents this seemed like the best option. springs and top plates done in 2k black.

    So the advice has always been to finger tighten them and apply loctite. I found on more than one occasion when customers brought cars in with them fitted that when I removed the wheel nut the stud would come out with it. Whenever I have fitted them I have applied loctite and used the 2 nut 2 spanner method to tighten them and Ive never seen one come back out.

  12. Can someone please advise me regarding the fitment of some recently purchased spacers. They are second hand and from Freakyparts, seller supplied with original invoice from last year. 25mm & 15mm. My concern is that the studs are basically just lengths of thread that are simply screwed into the spacer with a little locktite once the spacer is on the hub... then the wheel sits on and bolts up tight. I’ve not seen spacers with this type of screw in stud system before where they screw in from the face. Does this seem safe or common? The pic I’ve attached highlights the studs that are screwed into the spacer by hand with some locktite.. Perhaps it’s all safe once the wheels on and tightened up and I’m over thinking...

  17. i did that when i meshed my front bumper , also makes it easier to undo the two to put all new bulbs in easily ... yesterday we tried to wrap my bonnet as its been a bit of a state so i wanted to carbon wrap it so i spent £50 for 3meters of the KPMF black carbon with air release feature , now this was a challenge to do but i actually love it and tina did a great job of doing this with me , it took bloody hours but it paid off : the wrap was actually recommended by a guy who is a wrapper by trade and has done jobs on several members cars on here :

Had the O/S wheel off earlier, along with removing (and destroying) some arch liner clips, bumper bolt screws, all three headlight bolts, O/S engine cover, and finally..the indicator bulb. 75 minutes to change an amber bulb to a chrome one, all because of the bonnet stay mounting. I did not refit the hidden headlight bolt. THAT is staying off.

    Yeah... i suppose damper & springs are 'consumables' but in the longer term sense, hopefully at least a decade, and even if kept rust and tatty corrosion free they will still wear out anyway. Probably best to periodically go over the exposed metal areas with an oily rag and allow a grimy gunky look to offer some protection.
  25. i personally wouldn't go with the sock...can hide damage from quick look over. Its not really rusty springs you have to worry about (unless they are REALLY crusty of course) its the ends snapping which can happen to even brand new ones. one bad pothole and PING As for extra paint, I did give all of my underbits a second coat of paint before fitting all my new stuff - after 10 months it hasn't really helped because it all gets blasted from wheel cast off anyway. Already got the old surface crust starting
